Endurance test evaluates 15 security solutions for corporate users

IT security institute AV-TEST has published the findings from its latest six-month endurance test, focusing on security solutions designed for corporate users. The evaluation, conducted from March to August 2025, examined the performance of 15 different security software products across both Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems. This extended testing period aims to provide a deeper insight into the ongoing effectiveness of these solutions.

The test is particularly relevant as many companies are still reliant on Windows 10, which is nearing the end of its extended support, or are in the process of migrating to Windows 11. Understanding how securely these endpoint solutions protect systems on both platforms is crucial for business continuity and data integrity.

The evaluated products were scored on protection, performance, and usability, with a maximum of 6 points awarded in each category, totaling 18 possible points. Out of the 15 solutions tested from various vendors, including Avast, Bitdefender, ESET, and Microsoft, five achieved the top score of 18 points.

Malware detection capabilities were rigorously assessed through a real-world test using over 2,000 new zero-day malware samples and a reference test utilizing more than 55,000 known malware samples. The results indicate that several solutions demonstrated consistent and reliable detection and prevention of threats on both Windows versions, offering critical protection for businesses in an evolving threat landscape.
