Energy Substantiation Lists Physically Backed Crude Oil Token on LMAX Digital
Energy Substantiation has listed its WTIC token, representing 1:1 physically backed WTI crude oil, on the institutional digital asset trading venue LMAX Digital.
Energy Substantiation announced that its WTIC token, which represents a 1:1 backing by physical WTI crude oil, is now available for institutional spot trading on LMAX Digital. This listing adds a regulated institutional venue to WTIC's trading ecosystem, which already includes Uniswap and BingX.
Each WTIC token corresponds to one barrel of WTI crude oil held in verified physical inventory. The token aims to provide institutional investors with a new method of gaining exposure to the oil market, complementing traditional instruments like futures and ETFs.
LMAX Digital, part of LMAX Group, provides institutional participants with access to digital asset liquidity and execution. The company stated that tokens like WTIC offer institutions new ways to respond to market events, including outside of traditional trading hours.
The move aligns with Energy Substantiation's broader goal of creating financial infrastructure for energy commodities on the blockchain, offering direct commodity exposure and new capital sources for energy suppliers.
