Enginsight Enhances Web Security with New Threat Intelligence Feature

Enginsight has launched its new Web Threat Intelligence (WTI) feature, aimed at significantly enhancing the IT security of businesses. This new capability provides deep insights into a company's applications without the need to install client software on servers. WTI can reach any system accessible via a domain or IP address.

The WTI service can identify and analyze various web components, including content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress and Drupal, applications like Microsoft Exchange and SAP NetWeaver, and web servers like Apache and Nginx. It also identifies the operating system in use. For all detected systems, WTI determines and evaluates known vulnerabilities and versions, calculating a security score.

This security score allows businesses to quickly identify the most vulnerable systems and derive measures for their protection. WTI detects known malware signatures, alerts users to unknown threats, finds entry points on websites, and checks if vulnerable areas, such as administrative interfaces, are publicly accessible. It also enables the preventive detection of insecure software and identifies manipulations or malicious software.

Enginsight states that new vulnerabilities are added to their database rapidly. Through continuous real-time monitoring, clients are immediately alerted when a new vulnerability is disclosed, such as recent issues with the Apache web server. The company recommends combining WTI with other Enginsight platform features, like SSL/TLS Monitoring, to further improve the security and availability of systems.
