Enginsight highlights persistent risks from BEAST vulnerability
Security firm Enginsight warns that reliance on outdated TLS protocols continues to expose systems to the BEAST vulnerability.

The BEAST (Browser Exploit Against SSL/TLS) vulnerability targets flaws in the CBC mode of SSL/TLS protocols, allowing attackers to decrypt HTTPS sessions. By executing a “man-in-the-middle” attack, unauthorized parties can intercept cleartext HTTP headers or inject malicious code into web traffic.
Although the technical details of this exploit have been documented for years, Enginsight notes that many web applications continue to support legacy TLS versions. This ongoing support for outdated cryptographic standards leaves systems susceptible to exploitation, regardless of modern infrastructure improvements.
To mitigate these risks, IT departments are advised to disable support for deprecated TLS versions. Transitioning to TLS 1.2 or higher is necessary to ensure robust encryption and to prevent attackers from bypassing transport layer security.
