Enigma raises $70M to simplify robot control
Robotics firm Enigma has secured $70 million in seed funding. The company aims to make controlling robots as straightforward as adjusting volume.
Enigma, a research lab emerging from stealth, has closed a $70 million seed funding round. The round was led by Index Ventures and Ribbit Capital, with participation from Sarah Guo's Conviction Partners.
The company is tackling a significant challenge in artificial intelligence: developing foundational models capable of performing tasks they were not explicitly trained for. Rather than focusing solely on model capabilities, Enigma is investigating how humans interact with robots to foster intuitive interfaces and potentially create a new kind of robotic intelligence.
To understand human-robot communication, Enigma is launching a large-scale online experiment. This initiative allows global users to interact with over 100 of the company's proprietary AI robots, located in hangars in Israel and California. These robots can perform a variety of tasks, including painting with a brush.
Founded less than a year ago, Enigma's approach centers on studying human-robot interactions to pave the way for simpler interfaces and a more accessible future for robotics.
