Envision Energy Launches New 8 MW Onshore Wind Turbine
Envision Energy has introduced its Model T – EN175/8.0 onshore wind turbine, featuring a 175-meter rotor and AI-driven optimization for enhanced energy yield and reliability.
HAMBURG, Germany – Envision Energy has launched its Model T – EN175/8.0 onshore wind turbine at WindEnergy Hamburg. The new 8 MW-class turbine features a 175-meter rotor and is designed for medium-wind-speed sites and complex operating environments.
The turbine is built upon Envision's proven Model T platform, with over 4,000 units ordered and 1,500 installed. It integrates the company's sixth-generation low-noise aerodynamics, in-house designed key components, and an AI-powered autonomous control system called Galileo, utilizing Envision's weather and energy foundation models.
According to Envision, the EN175/8.0 model is designed to increase energy yield by 2–12% compared to existing models, depending on site conditions. The company highlights that its vertically integrated approach to manufacturing components like blades, gearboxes, and generators enhances quality and cost control throughout the turbine's lifecycle.
The turbine incorporates low-noise airfoils and serrated trailing edges, validated through wind tunnel testing. The EN175/8.0 is designed for reliability in diverse conditions, including cold and icing-prone environments, with an optional blade ice-prevention system available.
Furthermore, the EN175/8.0 supports grid stability through advanced controls and AI that autonomously adjusts turbine operation in real-time to changing wind and operating conditions, aiming to improve efficiency and stability.
