Envision Energy launches new 8 MW onshore wind turbine

Envision Energy launched the Model T – EN175/8.0, an 8 MW onshore wind turbine featuring a 175-meter rotor, at the WindEnergy Hamburg trade fair. The turbine is engineered for sites with medium wind speeds and complex operating environments, incorporating advanced aerodynamics and AI-driven autonomous control.

The EN175/8.0 builds on Envision's proven Model T platform, which has seen over 4,000 units ordered and approximately 1,500 installed globally. The new model integrates Envision's sixth-generation low-noise aerodynamic technology and in-house designed key components, including blades, gearboxes, and generators. It also utilizes the Galileo autonomous control system, powered by Tianji for weather forecasting and Dubhe for energy management.

According to Envision, the EN175/8.0 is expected to increase energy yield by 2–12 percent compared to existing models, depending on site conditions. The company highlights its vertically integrated approach to component design and manufacturing as a key factor in enhancing lifecycle value, performance, and cost control.

The turbine is designed to operate reliably in varied and challenging onshore conditions, including complex wind terrains and mountainous areas. It is available in standard and cold climate configurations, with an optional blade anti-icing system for frost-prone regions. Envision states that this type of development is crucial for optimizing energy capture and operational efficiency in the evolving energy landscape.
