Envision Energy Receives Certification for Wind Farm Control System
Envision Energy's wind farm control system has obtained IEC 62443-3-3 SL2 certification from TÜV SÜD. The certification covers key system components, including SCADA, PPC, and PLC devices.

Hamburg, Germany – Envision Energy has received an IEC 62443-3-3 Security Level 2 (SL2) certificate from TÜV SÜD for its wind farm control system. The certification, awarded at WindEnergy Hamburg, validates cybersecurity capabilities across critical system components, including SCADA, PPC, and PLC devices, as well as industrial network devices.
This accreditation marks an advancement in Envision Energy's cybersecurity measures, extending independently verified security features from core control components to the entire wind farm system level. The IEC 62443 standard is a globally recognized framework for cybersecurity in industrial automation and control systems.
Envision Energy has incorporated cybersecurity throughout the lifecycle of its wind energy technologies, from design and development to production and delivery. The company's verified cybersecurity capabilities now span multiple layers, including a secure development lifecycle (IEC 62443-4-1), core control components (IEC 62443-4-2 SL2), and the wind farm control system itself (IEC 62443-3-3 SL2).
"Cybersecurity is fundamental to the safe and reliable operation of wind assets as wind becomes an increasingly critical part of future energy systems," stated Yimin Lou, Senior Vice President and Chief Product Officer at Envision Energy. "This certificate serves as a foundation for continuous improvement and builds trust for our customers."
Frank L. Blaimberger, Vice President at TÜV SÜD, commented that the certification represents a step towards system-level cybersecurity and enhances confidence in the security and reliability of wind energy infrastructure within the accelerating digitalization of the energy sector.
