Envision Energy Receives TÜV SÜD Certification for Wind Turbine Control System
Envision Energy's wind turbine control system has achieved IEC 62443-3-3 certification for Security Level 2 (SL2) from TÜV SÜD. The certification validates the system's cybersecurity.

HAMBURG, Germany – Envision Energy's wind turbine control system has achieved certification according to the IEC 62443-3-3 standard for Security Level 2 (SL2) from TÜV SÜD. The certification covers key components including SCADA, PPC, PLC, and industrial network devices. The award was announced during the WindEnergy 2026 exhibition in Hamburg.
This certification marks a significant advancement in Envision Energy's cybersecurity efforts, extending independently verified security features from core control components to the entire wind power system level. The IEC 62443 standard series is a globally recognized set of cybersecurity standards for industrial automation and control systems.
The IEC 62443-3-3 standard specifically addresses system-level security requirements, encompassing relevant components, networks, and system security mechanisms that interact within the overall control system. The certification provides independent validation of the cybersecurity capabilities integrated into Envision Energy's wind turbine control system.
Envision Energy integrates cybersecurity throughout the design, development, manufacturing, and delivery of its wind power technologies. The company's IEC 62443 compliance now spans multiple levels, including a secure development lifecycle (IEC 62443-4-1), certified SCADA, PPC, and PLC components (IEC 62443-4-2 SL2), and the wind turbine control system itself (IEC 62443-3-3 SL2).
"As wind power becomes increasingly critical to future energy systems, cybersecurity is fundamental to safe, reliable, and resilient wind power operations," said Yimin Lou, Senior Vice President and Chief Product Officer at Envision Energy. "This certification reflects our commitment to meeting evolving cybersecurity requirements and international regulations, and we view it as a foundation for continuous improvement."
