Envision Energy unveils new offshore wind turbine
Envision Energy has introduced its new EN-252/16.7 offshore wind turbine, designed for high-wind environments to enhance energy output and reliability.
Envision Energy, a global green technology company, has launched its latest offshore wind turbine, the EN-252/16.7. The turbine is engineered for environments with strong winds, targeting the demands of offshore wind power markets.
The new model, with a rated capacity of 16.7 MW, builds upon Envision's proven Model Z platform and over a decade of offshore wind experience. It features a high-performance rotor and integrated drivetrain, intended to increase energy production and project return on investment.
The company states the EN-252/16.7 is designed to deliver approximately 1-2% higher annual energy production and reduce the number of required turbines by around 10% compared to current offerings. This is expected to contribute to a reduction in the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE).
Reliability and safety are key features, with the turbine designed to withstand extreme wind conditions and supported by Envision's AI-powered Galileo system for proactive maintenance and fault detection, aiming to minimize downtime.
