Envision Energy's wind farm system secures cybersecurity certification
Envision Energy's wind farm control system has achieved IEC 62443-3-3 certification from TÜV SÜD. The certification, covering key components like SCADA, PPC, and PLC, enhances the system's cybersecurity.

HAMBURG, Germany – September 27, 2026 – Envision Energy's wind farm management system has reached a significant milestone in cybersecurity. The company announced it has received IEC 62443-3-3 certification at Security Level 2 (SL2) from TÜV SÜD for its wind farm control system. This certification encompasses critical components including SCADA, PPC, PLC, and industrial network equipment.
The certification, awarded during WindEnergy Hamburg 2026, validates Envision Energy's commitment to industry-leading security standards. IEC 62443 is a globally recognized standard series for cybersecurity in industrial automation and control systems. Specifically, IEC 62443-3-3 focuses on system-level security requirements, ensuring that relevant components, networks, and security mechanisms work together safely.
Envision Energy has integrated cybersecurity into its entire wind power technology lifecycle, from design and development to manufacturing and delivery. The company's certifications now cover multiple levels: a secure development lifecycle (IEC 62443-4-1), key components (IEC 62443-4-2 SL2), and the wind farm control system itself (IEC 62443-3-3 SL2). These certifications demonstrate a structured and comprehensive approach to cybersecurity.
"As wind power becomes increasingly vital to future energy systems, cybersecurity is paramount for the safe, reliable, and resilient operation of wind farms," stated Yimin Lou, First Vice President and Chief Product Officer at Envision Energy. "This latest certification reflects our ongoing commitment to meeting evolving cybersecurity requirements and regulatory compliance, particularly in European markets." Frank L. Blaimberger, a Vice President at TÜV SÜD, emphasized the certification's role in building confidence in the digitalized energy infrastructure. "The IEC 62443-3-3 SL2 certification for Envision Energy represents a step towards addressing cybersecurity at the system level, complementing the security capabilities already established in its control components. Independent verification against internationally recognized standards can strengthen trust in the safety and reliability of wind power infrastructure."
