Envoy AI CEO to Discuss AI's Role in Logistics Operations

Robby Nathan, co-founder and CEO of logistics technology firm Envoy AI, is scheduled to speak at the Journal of Commerce Inland Distribution Conference (Inland26) in Chicago. His presentation will focus on the impact and practical application of artificial intelligence within freight brokerage offices.

Nathan will join a panel titled "Agents of Change: Mapping Out the Agentic Age in Truckload Brokerage," alongside executives from Vooma and HappyRobot. The discussion will explore how AI agents are transforming the truckload brokerage sector, addressing topics such as return on investment and the comparative costs of digital versus human workers.

The session will delve into the concept of AI agents as "digital workers," with Nathan advocating for their management akin to new hires, requiring defined roles, clear boundaries, and accountability. He argues that the AI revolution in freight is occurring within office workflows, not solely in autonomous vehicles.

Envoy AI plans to showcase live performance data from its AI agent, Ellie. In one instance, Ellie reportedly handled 76 carrier calls in five minutes, secured 20 offers, and booked a load below the posted rate. Currently, approximately 75% of loads for Envoy's clients are booked through Ellie.

Nathan emphasizes that the true value of AI in logistics should be measured by its ability to complete tasks efficiently, reduce costs per shipment, and decrease the manual effort required. He believes AI enables brokerages to scale operations and handle increased freight volumes without a proportional rise in headcount. Envoy AI's system continuously learns from each transaction to improve its performance over time.
