Epidemic Sound launches AI-powered Studio tool for soundtrack creation

Epidemic Sound, a platform offering royalty-free music and sound effects, has introduced its new AI-powered tool called Studio. The tool is designed to generate and sync soundtracks for video content, aiming to significantly reduce the time creators spend on audio post-production.

Studio utilizes Epidemic Sound's extensive catalog of over 55,000 tracks and 250,000 sound effects. It automatically analyzes video rough cuts and syncs appropriate audio, transforming raw footage into a synchronized soundtrack draft. This process is intended to bypass the often lengthy task of manually searching for and placing music and sound effects.

The company emphasizes that Studio is intended to augment, not replace, creative input. The AI provides a foundational soundtrack that users can then refine and customize. Crucially, all audio used through Studio is cleared for use, offering creators a solution to potential copyright claims and demonetization issues on platforms like YouTube.

Studio integrates with popular editing software, including Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, through plugins. Epidemic Sound states the tool addresses common creator challenges such as creative blocks, time constraints, and the need for technical audio expertise. The company also confirmed that its artists are compensated for the use of their work within the Studio tool.

Epidemic Sound positions Studio as a means to enhance creative workflows while ensuring legal and ethical compliance for content creators. The tool is now available to subscribers of the Epidemic Sound platform.
