Epiroc, a provider of productivity and sustainability solutions for the mining and infrastructure industries, has acquired Mining Tag S.A., a Chilean company specializing in intelligent mining solutions. The transaction aims to strengthen Epiroc's digital offering to customers.
Based in Santiago, Chile, Mining Tag develops and implements sensor-based solutions for monitoring, automation, and process improvement in mining. These solutions are primarily utilized in underground mining operations. Key products include MT OneMine for productivity gains and MT Guardian for safety enhancements.
Mining Tag operates in several Latin American countries and has approximately 120 employees. The company reported revenues of around MUSD 7 in 2020. The acquisition details are not subject to disclosure requirements under the EU Market Abuse Regulation.
This acquisition is expected to bolster Epiroc's smart digitalization portfolio and expand its presence in the Latin American market, aligning with the company's strategy to grow through automation and digitalization.
