Epiroc Acquires Software Firm to Boost Mine Productivity
Epiroc has finalized the acquisition of MineRP, a software company focused on enhancing mine productivity through integrated planning, execution, and analytics.
Swedish company Epiroc, a provider of productivity solutions for the mining and infrastructure industries, has completed the purchase of MineRP, a software firm specializing in mine operations. The transaction was finalized on May 4, 2021.
MineRP develops software that integrates technical data from mining operations, machine data, and enterprise resource planning systems. Its solutions aim to improve operational efficiency by consolidating planning, execution, and analytics functions. The company operates from South Africa, with offices in Canada, Australia, and Chile, serving medium to large-scale mines globally.
The acquired company employs approximately 200 people and reported revenues of about $16 million USD (SEK 135 million) for the 12 months ending June 30, 2020. The sellers included a group of owners, among them Canadian mining company Dundee Precious Metals. Epiroc did not disclose the purchase price, stating it was not material to the group.
MineRP's operations will be integrated into Epiroc's Technology & Digital division. Epiroc aims to advance digitalization, automation, and electrification for its customers in the mining and construction sectors.
