Epiroc acquires South African mining aftermarket solutions provider
Epiroc AB has agreed to acquire Eventspec Proprietary Limited, a South African company that manufactures parts for mining equipment. The acquisition will expand Epiroc's product offerings and services in Africa.
Stockholm, Sweden – Epiroc AB, a provider of productivity and sustainability solutions for the mining and infrastructure industries, has agreed to acquire the business of Eventspec Proprietary Limited, a South African aftermarket solutions provider for the mining sector. Eventspec manufactures parts for drill rigs, mine trucks, and loaders, and offers related rebuilds, repairs, and services.
Based in Johannesburg, South Africa, Eventspec has over two decades of industry experience and employs approximately 120 people. The company reported revenues of around ZAR 280 million (SEK 160 million) in 2025. Its primary customers are mining companies in South Africa.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen Epiroc's manufacturing capabilities and broaden its portfolio of spare parts and related services in the African region. Epiroc stated the move is a strategic addition that will support its growth.
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory filings and is anticipated to be completed in early Q3 2026. The acquisition will be integrated into Epiroc's Equipment & Service Business Area and booked under Service revenue.
