Epiroc begins construction of new production and R&D facility in India

Epiroc AB commenced construction on August 26, 2025, for a new production and research and development (R&D) facility in Nashik, India. The site will focus on developing, innovating, and producing underground and surface equipment for mining and construction customers.

The facility will include buildings for production and prototyping, an R&D lab, offices, and an outdoor equipment test track. The approximately 175,000 square meter site is scheduled to begin operations in the third quarter of 2026, with phased developments planned for the coming years.

"The new facility in Nashik is a key step in further expanding our presence in the growing and very important Indian market, and it will also support our customers globally," said Helena Hedblom, Epiroc's President and CEO. The project is expected to create approximately 200 new local jobs.

Epiroc already operates several production and innovation facilities in India and employs around 1,750 people in the country. Recent expansions include an upgraded manufacturing facility for rock drilling tools in Hyderabad in April 2025. The company stated the investment also supports India's 'Make in India' initiatives.
