Epiroc, a company serving the mining and construction industries, has received a large order for underground mining equipment and aftermarket support from Hindustan Zinc Limited in India. The order is valued at approximately SEK 280 million.
Hindustan Zinc Limited, a Vedanta Group company and the world's largest integrated zinc producer, has ordered a fleet of mine trucks and drilling rigs for face and production drilling. The equipment will be deployed at Hindustan Zinc's advanced operations in Rajasthan, northwestern India.
The order was booked in the first quarter of 2025 and includes a comprehensive service and maintenance contract spanning six to eight years. Epiroc will manufacture a portion of the ordered machines at its facility in Nashik, India, supporting the "Make in India" initiative. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2025.
The scope of the order includes Minetruck MT42 S and MT65 S mine trucks, the Simba E70 S production drilling rig, and the Boomer M2D face drilling rig. The equipment is equipped with Epiroc's Rig Control System (RCS), enabling readiness for automation and remote control.
