Epiroc receives large mining equipment order in Mexico

Epiroc, a supplier of mining and construction equipment and services, has received a significant order from Canadian mining contractor Dumas Contracting Ltd. in Mexico. The order encompasses underground mining equipment, spare parts, tooling, and digital solutions for a silver mine located in northern Mexico.

The order, valued at approximately SEK 200 million (around USD 19 million), was booked in the first quarter of 2024. The deal includes various drilling rigs such as Boomer 282 and Boomer S1D for face drilling, Simba S7 for production drilling, and Boltec S and Boltec 235H for rock reinforcement. Additionally, loaders (Scooptram ST1030 and ST7) and mine trucks (Minetruck MT2200 and MT436B) will be supplied.

Epiroc will also provide spare parts, drilling tools, technical service, and on-site training. The digital solutions include asset tracking capabilities. The company has an established partnership with Dumas Contracting, previously working together in Canada and the United States.

Dumas Contracting, a subsidiary of STRACON Group, operates as a full-service underground mining contractor across the Americas. This new order follows a smaller order from Dumas in the fourth quarter of 2023 for equipment to be used at a gold mine in Mexico.
