Epiroc Reports Double-Digit Profit Growth in Q2
Mining and infrastructure equipment manufacturer Epiroc reported a second-quarter financial performance showing double-digit increases in both revenue and operating profit. The growth was driven by high customer activity in the mining sector and an improved investment climate for infrastructure projects.
Swedish mining and infrastructure equipment manufacturer Epiroc has announced its second-quarter financial results, indicating strong growth across key metrics. Order intake increased by 13% to SEK 17,305 million (SEK 15,276 million), with organic growth also reaching 13%. Revenues rose by 10% to SEK 16,702 million (SEK 15,130 million), reflecting an organic increase of 11%.
The company's operating profit saw a 17% increase, reaching SEK 3,316 million (SEK 2,831 million), with the operating margin improving to 19.9% from 18.7%. Epiroc attributed this performance to robust customer activity within the mining sector, supported by historically high mineral prices, and a more favorable investment sentiment for infrastructure and construction projects.
"Mining demand remained strong, and the investment climate for infrastructure and construction projects has improved," stated Epiroc CEO Helena Hedblom. "We expect mining demand to stay high and infrastructure customer demand to increase somewhat in the near term."
In June, Epiroc hosted its Epiroc World Expo in Örebro, Sweden, showcasing innovations such as the electric-diesel Minetruck MT66 S eDrive and automated rock reinforcement solutions. The company also held a Capital Markets Day, reaffirming its long-term financial targets and highlighting key growth drivers.
