Epiroc secures 210 million SEK mining equipment order for Peru copper mine
Swedish equipment manufacturer Epiroc has booked an order worth approximately 210 million SEK to supply drill rigs and technical services to a copper operation in Peru.
Epiroc has finalized a contract to supply a fleet of Pit Viper 351 surface blasthole drill rigs to a large-scale copper mine in Peru. The order, valued at approximately 210 million SEK, was recorded in the second quarter of 2026.
The equipment is destined for a mining site operated by a consortium of Chinese investment firms and an Australian-headquartered mining company. The scope of the agreement includes the provision of drilling tools, spare parts, and on-site technical support to facilitate the mine’s current expansion plans.
Epiroc CEO Helena Hedblom noted that the company has maintained a presence at this specific Peruvian site for approximately a decade. The Pit Viper 351 rigs are equipped with an onboard control system designed to support future automation. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in late 2026 and continue through the first half of 2027.
