Epiroc to acquire remaining share of autonomous solutions provider ASI Mining
Epiroc, a productivity and sustainability partner for mining and construction, has agreed to acquire the remaining share of U.S.-based ASI Mining, an autonomous mining solutions provider. Epiroc already owns 34% of the company.
Epiroc, a company serving the mining and construction industries, has announced its agreement to acquire the remaining 66% of ASI Mining, a U.S.-based provider of autonomous mining solutions. Epiroc previously acquired a 34% stake in ASI Mining in 2018.
Based in Mendon, Utah, ASI Mining develops automation systems for mining operations, including remote control and fully autonomous capabilities. Its solutions are designed to be compatible with equipment from various manufacturers, making them suitable for mines with mixed fleets. The company states that its systems enhance safety and productivity while reducing emissions and operational costs.
ASI Mining reported revenues of approximately SEK 300 million in 2023. The transaction is subject to approval from U.S. competition authorities and is anticipated to close in the third quarter of 2024. The purchase price has not been disclosed.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen Epiroc's offerings in automation for the mining sector. The company has been collaborating with ASI Mining to advance automation solutions for its customer base.
