Epiroc to acquire software company MineRP for increased mine productivity
Epiroc has agreed to acquire MineRP, a software company focused on increasing mine productivity through integrated planning, execution, and analytics.
Stockholm, Sweden – Epiroc, a supplier of productivity solutions for the mining and infrastructure industries, has agreed to acquire MineRP, a software company headquartered in South Africa. The acquisition aims to enhance mine productivity by integrating and analyzing mining data.
MineRP provides a software platform that integrates technical mining data with information from machinery and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. The company has offices in South Africa, Canada, Australia, and Chile, serving medium and large-sized mines globally. MineRP has approximately 200 employees and reported revenues of about $16 million for the 12 months ending June 30, 2020.
"This acquisition aligns well with Epiroc’s focus on supporting mining companies on their digitalization journey," said Helena Hedblom, Epiroc’s President and CEO. "The combination of MineRP’s platform capabilities and Epiroc’s digital solutions has the potential to transform mine operations." She added that MineRP is a high-quality software provider with experience in connecting mines from pit to port.
The acquisition is expected to be completed in the first half of 2021, subject to regulatory approvals. MineRP will become part of Epiroc’s Digital & Technology division. The purchase price is not considered material relative to Epiroc’s market capitalization.
