Financial technology company Episode Six has raised $7 million in Series A funding, led by HSBC, with additional investments from Mastercard and SBI Investment Co. The capital injection is intended to accelerate the company's global growth and further develop its technology offerings.

Episode Six provides a platform designed for creating and managing digital financial and payment products. CEO John Mitchell stated that legacy technology constraints are hindering financial institutions' ability to meet the demand for new products and streamlined efficiencies. The company's platform, equipped with over 500 APIs, aims to provide enhanced configurability.

In the past year, Episode Six has expanded its presence in Tokyo, Singapore, and London. The company also introduced its IONIC and Vertices technology enhancements, which aim to offer greater flexibility in developing customer-centric financial products. This new funding will facilitate further global expansion and the delivery of its technology to clients across financial services, fintech, health tech, and other sectors.

HSBC's Brian McKenney highlighted the effectiveness of Episode Six's technology in developing digital wallet propositions in the Asia-Pacific region. Mastercard's Jason Lane expressed support for Episode Six's expansion into Europe to drive the digital economy.

Currently, three million consumers and businesses use products built on Episode Six's technology. The company plans to continue investing in its technological platform and expanding its international reach.
