Investment firm EQT has finalized the fundraising for its EQT IX fund, securing 15.6 billion euros in total assets under management.

Private equity firm EQT has reached a final close for its EQT IX fund, totaling 15.6 billion euros. This marks the company’s first major fund closure since its initial public offering in 2019.
The capital was raised from a global investor base, including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and institutional asset managers across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East. Approximately 70 percent of the commitments originated from investors in the firm's previous fund.
As of April 2021, the fund has deployed 40 to 45 percent of its capital. The firm plans to target investments within the healthcare, TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecom), services, and industrial technology sectors, primarily focusing on opportunities in Europe and the United States.
Per Franzén, Partner and Co-Head of EQT Private Equity, stated that the firm aims to continue its strategy of utilizing active ownership and operational tools to develop companies within these sectors.
