EQT to acquire specialty insurance broker McGill and Partners for $2 billion

Investment firm EQT has reached an agreement to acquire a majority stake in specialty (re)insurance broker McGill and Partners from Warburg Pincus. The transaction values the firm at USD 2.0 billion.

McGill and Partners' founders, management team, and staff will reinvest alongside EQT, retaining a significant ownership stake. The firm, established in 2019, specializes in the (re)insurance brokerage sector.

EQT intends to partner with the existing management team to accelerate McGill and Partners' organic growth. This includes expanding talent recruitment and the firm's global reach.

Warburg Pincus has been the majority owner of McGill and Partners since its founding in 2019.
