EQT AB, a global investment organization, announced it has signed an agreement to acquire Stockbridge, a U.S.-based real estate investment manager. The transaction's base consideration is USD 375 million in cash, with potential additional payments linked to performance targets between 2027 and 2030.

Stockbridge manages approximately USD 16.5 billion in fee-generating assets and USD 27 billion in gross asset value. The acquisition is intended to accelerate EQT Real Estate's strategic goal of becoming a more thematically diversified and globally scaled platform, while maintaining its specialized, local approach.

EQT Real Estate plans to integrate Stockbridge's expertise in industrial investments and alternative living sectors, such as industrial outdoor storage and manufactured housing, with EQT's existing global capabilities. This combination is expected to broaden client access to strategies benefiting from long-term trends, including industrial sub-sectors and alternative living.

The deal also incorporates Stockbridge's established Core strategies, including an open-ended core fund that has demonstrated top-tier performance within its peer group. EQT aims to scale this strategy globally through its existing client base and distribution network.

Stockbridge's senior management shareholders have committed to reinvest half of their proceeds into EQT AB shares following the closing of the transaction, which is expected soon.
