EQT to Acquire US Real Estate Manager Stockbridge
Private equity firm EQT has agreed to acquire US real estate investment manager Stockbridge, which manages approximately $16.5 billion in fee-generating assets. The deal aims to diversify EQT's real estate platform.

EQT AB has announced an agreement to acquire Stockbridge, a US-based real estate investment manager. The transaction involves a base consideration of $375 million in cash, with potential for additional earnout payments subject to performance targets. Stockbridge manages approximately $16.5 billion in fee-generating assets and $27 billion in gross asset value.
Stockbridge, founded in 2003 and headquartered in San Francisco, specializes in sectors including industrial real estate, industrial outdoor storage, and alternative living solutions like manufactured housing. EQT intends to combine Stockbridge's expertise with its own industrial real estate capabilities and global client network to create a more diversified and globally scaled real estate business.
This acquisition is expected to strengthen EQT Real Estate's position in industrial investments and expand its reach into other traditional and alternative sectors. Stockbridge's established core strategies, including a fund ranked in the top 5% among peers, will become a key offering within EQT Real Estate's platform.
Stockbridge's senior management shareholders have committed to reinvest half of their proceeds into EQT AB shares. The move aligns with EQT Real Estate's strategy to evolve into a thematically diversified global platform, building on its growth since 2021 and aiming for continued strong performance across market cycles.
