EQT Group has agreed to sell its stake in software firm Acumatica to Vista Equity Partners. This transaction marks a significant milestone in Acumatica's transformation and growth since EQT's initial investment in 2019.
Acumatica provides cloud-based business management software for small and medium-sized businesses. The company reports that under EQT's ownership, it has seen a seven-fold increase in revenue and more than tripled its headcount. Acumatica serves over 10,000 customers globally across various sectors, including distribution, manufacturing, construction, retail, and professional services.
The company stated that Acumatica is well-positioned to capitalize on future growth opportunities. These include accelerated cloud migration from legacy systems, leveraging an expanding partner ecosystem, and advancements in artificial intelligence and integrated payment functionalities.
The transaction is subject to customary conditions and approvals and is expected to close in the third quarter of 2025. During EQT's ownership, Acumatica focused on product innovation, ecosystem expansion, and operational improvements.
Financial advisors for the transaction included Moelis & Company LLC and Jefferies Group LLC, with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP serving as legal counsel to Acumatica and EQT. Greenberg Traurig, LLP advised Vista.
