Erewhon Adopts Organic Fera Fruit Oil for Frying Across All Locations

Los Angeles – Erewhon Market, a certified organic retailer, announced it has adopted Organic Fera fruit oil from Zero Acre Farms for frying at all 15 of its Southern California locations. This immediate shift aims to enhance the crispiness of popular menu items like buffalo cauliflower and crispy chicken tenders.

The move positions Erewhon as the largest grocer to date utilizing Organic Fera fruit oil. This decision reinforces the company's commitment to regenerative organic agriculture and its broader strategy to move away from seed oils. According to the company, the oil's composition of healthy fats and antioxidants helps minimize oxidation during frying, improving food quality.

Organic Fera fruit oil, derived from a South American palm tree fruit, has seen significant adoption in the foodservice industry, appearing in over 800 locations nationwide since its April launch. It was also recognized by Fast Company as one of its 2026 World Changing Ideas.

This oil transition is part of Erewhon's larger mission to improve both human and planetary health. Jeff Nobbs, founder of Zero Acre Farms, stated that the partnership demonstrates how moving beyond seed oils can support regenerative farming, healthier cooking practices, and a better food experience.
