Ericsson Appoints New Head of Global Communications Platform Business Area
Ericsson announced the appointment of Christophe Van de Weyer as Head of Business Area Global Communications Platform and CEO of Vonage.
Ericsson has appointed Christophe Van de Weyer to lead its Global Communications Platform business area and serve as CEO of Vonage. Van de Weyer will join the Ericsson Executive Team.
Van de Weyer joins Ericsson from Vonage, where he held the position of Head of Business Unit API. His new role will encompass the company's global communication platform offerings and the leadership of Vonage.
The appointment comes as Ericsson continues to integrate Vonage following its acquisition, aiming to bolster its cloud communication solutions and services.
Niklas Heuveldop will step down from his position on August 15 but will remain available to the company until December 31, 2026, to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.
