Ericsson Reports 7% Sales Growth in Third Quarter
Ericsson reported a 7% year-over-year organic sales growth for the third quarter, reaching SEK 59.5 billion. The increase was primarily driven by the Networks segment, despite a challenging market environment.
STOCKHOLM – Telecommunications firm Ericsson announced its third-quarter results, highlighting a 7% organic sales growth compared to the previous year, with total sales reaching SEK 59.5 billion. This expansion was largely propelled by the Networks business segment, occurring amidst what the company described as challenging market conditions, including elevated component costs and geopolitical uncertainty.
The company stated that strong customer demand in strategic markets, coupled with ongoing commercial actions, supported the sales growth. Ericsson secured new customer wins and deployments across network modernization, differentiated connectivity, and mission-critical networks. Efforts are underway to optimize its product portfolio and implement efficiency measures to offset rising costs and bolster competitiveness.
Overall, the financial results demonstrated resilience across its business areas. Despite a significant decrease in reported EBITA compared to the prior year's comparable period, CEO Per Narvinger emphasized focused execution and customer trust. Ericsson also announced a simplification of its operating structure, aimed at enhancing customer focus and driving further efficiencies.
Looking ahead, Narvinger acknowledged that the RAN market is flat and anticipates challenges such as component cost pressures next year. However, he expressed confidence in Ericsson's positioning to navigate these difficulties and achieve profitable long-term growth.
