EssilorLuxottica, a major player in the eyewear industry, has acquired Faro, an Italian company with over two decades of experience in designing and manufacturing high-precision CNC machinery. The acquisition, dated April 23, 2026, focuses on milling and diamond cutting technologies crucial for both the jewelry and eyewear sectors.
Based in Santa Maria di Sala, near Venice, an area renowned for Italy's eyewear district, Faro has established itself as a key supplier to eyewear manufacturers. The company offers integrated hardware and software solutions that facilitate advanced creative and technological capabilities in frame and lens production.
This move signals EssilorLuxottica's strategy to strengthen its vertical integration by incorporating Faro's specialized technological expertise. The acquisition is expected to provide Faro with access to EssilorLuxottica's extensive resources, global scale, and industry knowledge, thereby accelerating its growth.
