Charenton-le-Pont, France – EssilorLuxottica announced in February 2021 that its employee share ownership has reached a record 44% of the company’s capital. The milestone was achieved following the company's 2020 international employee share ownership campaign, known as “Boost 2020”.

The campaign resulted in approximately 63,000 EssilorLuxottica employees in 81 countries becoming shareholders, an increase from nearly 56,000 employees in 2019. The company also noted that over 10,000 employee retirees are shareholders.

Despite challenging global conditions in 2020, the subscription rate for the Boost 2020 initiative exceeded 62% of eligible employees. This participation rate is noted as significantly above the 2019 market average. Local plans complemented the global effort, contributing to its success.

The company's sustained commitment to employee shareholding was recognized by the French Federation of Employee Shareholder Associations (FAS), which awarded EssilorLuxottica the “Grand Prix FAS 2020” in February 2021. EssilorLuxottica stated that employee share ownership is a cornerstone of its governance model and long-term strategy.
