EssilorLuxottica presents new myopia management data at ARVO 2026
EssilorLuxottica presented new clinical data and long-term evidence for its Essilor Stellest lenses at the ARVO 2026 annual meeting. The findings support an integrated evidence approach to myopia management.

EssilorLuxottica presented new clinical data and long-term evidence for its Essilor Stellest lenses at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) 2026 Annual Meeting. The presentations, encompassing 12 abstracts from 26 clinical studies, focused on evidence-based and personalized myopia management.
Results from a seven-year follow-up study in China demonstrated the sustained efficacy of Essilor Stellest lenses in slowing myopia progression for children and adolescents. On average, the lenses slowed myopia progression by 2.30 D and axial elongation by 0.92 mm over seven years, with findings indicating a reduced risk of developing high myopia compared to single vision lenses.
A clinical trial in the United States showed that children aged 6 to 12 using Essilor Stellest lenses experienced an average slowing of myopia progression by 71% and axial elongation by 53% over two years, compared to single vision lenses. Efficacy was observed across all age groups and baseline myopia levels, with stronger effects noted in younger children.
A comprehensive review of 26 studies across various patient populations confirmed the consistent effectiveness of Essilor Stellest lenses. Real-world data also supported the significant effect of lenses incorporating HAL technology in reducing axial eye length compared to single vision lenses.
EssilorLuxottica continues to invest in understanding myopia development and researching future treatment methods. The company also presented research deepening the understanding of the retina's role in myopia progression.
