EssilorLuxottica Reports Accelerated Myopia Control Results in Stellest 2.0 Clinical Trial

Interim clinical trial data from China indicates that EssilorLuxottica’s updated Stellest 2.0 lenses achieve comparable myopia control in six months that previously took one year.

3 November 2026

EssilorLuxottica has released six-month interim findings from an ongoing randomized, double-masked clinical trial in China evaluating its Stellest 2.0 spectacle lenses. The data indicates that the lenses slowed myopia progression by an average of 0.51 diopters and reduced axial elongation by 0.21 mm compared to single-vision lenses.

These interim results are significant as they match the efficacy previously observed after 12 months of wear with the first-generation Stellest product. Researchers suggest this indicates a potential acceleration in the treatment response for children using the H.A.L.T. MAX technology. Prof. Yang Xiao, principal investigator at the Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, noted that the rapid adaptation rate—with 98% of subjects adjusting within one week—and high daily compliance rates were critical factors in these findings.

The findings, presented at the ESCRS Congress in London, align with earlier research conducted in Singapore. While the results are considered a positive indicator for myopia management, EssilorLuxottica emphasized that the trial is ongoing, with a one-year assessment serving as the primary efficacy endpoint.

It should be noted that product availability varies by region, and Stellest 2.0 lenses have not yet received clearance in all jurisdictions, including the United States. The company characterizes these findings as scientific evidence intended for professional exchange.
