EssilorLuxottica, a global leader in eyewear, has reported record participation in its employee shareholding programs for the year 2022. Following the success of its international "Boost" plan and the strong performance of the French PEE savings scheme, the total number of active employee shareholders has reached its highest level.

The company stated that nearly 58,000 eligible employees subscribed to the "Boost" plan, achieving a 65% subscription rate. By the end of 2022, 72,000 employees in 85 countries held financial stakes in EssilorLuxottica, marking a consistent increase from 67,000 in 2021 and 63,000 in 2020.

The French PEE program also set a record, gathering over 30 million euros in 2022, a 15% increase from the previous year and the highest amount since its inception in 1979. These programs offer employees favorable terms to invest in the company, aligning their interests with those of EssilorLuxottica and its other shareholders.

Furthermore, the number of employees joining Valoptec, the independent association for EssilorLuxottica employee shareholders, grew by 50% compared to last year. As of 2022, nearly 30,000 employees, former employees, and retirees are members of Valoptec, indicating a strong commitment to active participation. EssilorLuxottica highlighted that employee shareholding is a fundamental aspect of its corporate culture and long-term strategy.
