Essity Acquires Feminine Care Business in Brazil
Hygiene and health company Essity has agreed to acquire Kenvue's feminine care business in Brazil. The acquisition includes major brands and strengthens Essity's market position.

Swedish hygiene and health company Essity has entered into an agreement to acquire Kenvue's feminine care business in Brazil. The transaction encompasses market-leading brands such as Carefree, Sempre Livre, and o.b.
The purchase price for the business is USD 284 million. This acquisition will expand Essity's product portfolio and reinforce its market presence in Brazil, one of the largest consumer goods markets in Latin America.
In the previous year, the feminine care business in Brazil generated approximately USD 150 million in sales. Essity is already a significant player in the Brazilian hygiene market, and this move aligns with the company's growth strategy in the region.
Kenvue is a global consumer health company focused on areas including skincare, over-the-counter medicines, and health solutions. The divestment is part of Essity's strategy to concentrate on its core operations and increase market share in key segments.
The deal is expected to be finalized by the end of 2024, subject to regulatory approvals. Essity anticipates that the acquisition will yield synergistic benefits and improve profitability over the long term.
