Hygiene and health company Essity reported a 2.6% increase in net sales for the second quarter of 2026, with growth driven by higher volumes.

Swedish hygiene and health company Essity announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2026, reporting a net sales increase of 2.6% to SEK 35,061 million compared to the previous year.

Organic sales growth was 0.3%, comprising a 1.4% contribution from volumes and a -1.1% from price/mix. The company's adjusted EBITA (earnings before interest, taxes, and amortization) remained stable at SEK 4,685 million, but the adjusted EBITA margin decreased slightly by 0.3 percentage points to 13.4%.

Essity's CEO, Ulrika Kolsrud, stated that higher volumes and an improved product mix contributed to the sales growth. The Health & Medical, Personal Care, and Professional Hygiene business areas showed positive performance. Consumer Tissue sales declined due to lower prices and volumes, with efforts underway to secure profitable volumes and adjust pricing.

Kolsrud also highlighted the company's use of artificial intelligence to accelerate product development and improve efficiency across its value chain. Essity has also focused on launching new products and implementing organizational changes to enhance growth and profitability.
