Anker subsidiary Eufy has launched the Video Doorbell S4 in the North American market, introducing a virtual reality (VR) viewing feature. The smart doorbell is priced at $299.99, with shipping expected to begin by the end of October 2026.
Eufy describes the S4 as the "world's first smart doorbell with VR viewing functionality." In VR mode, users can view the doorbell's panoramic footage from different angles by moving their smartphone or using a VR headset. When a visitor rings the doorbell, the user receives a call-like notification on their phone, allowing them to initiate a two-way audio conversation and enter the VR viewing mode.
The Video Doorbell S4 records 3K HDR video at up to 24 frames per second with a resolution of 3072x3072 pixels. Its lens offers a 180-degree field of view both horizontally and vertically, capturing a wide area from floor to ceiling and wall to wall. The device also includes 8x digital zoom and dual spotlights for color night vision.
Additionally, the S4 features Eufy's OmniTrack AI tracking system, which automatically locks onto subjects and crops the panoramic view to keep them centered. Motion detection utilizes both radar and dual PIR sensors for a range of up to 8 meters. The system supports detection of people, motion, packages, and faces. A welcome light illuminates with a warm color when someone approaches.
The device is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit. The HomeKit functionality requires the purchase of a separate HomeBase S380 hub. The VR viewing and OmniTrack AI features necessitate the use of Eufy's official application.
