European Retailers Add Rechargeable Headlamps to Summer 2026 Inventories
European outdoor gear retailers are increasing their stock of rechargeable headlamps for the summer 2026 camping and trekking season. EU battery regulations are driving the shift from disposable batteries to rechargeable models.

European outdoor retailers are expanding their assortments of rechargeable headlamps for the upcoming summer 2026 camping and trekking season. This trend is fueled by sustained growth in outdoor recreation and evolving EU battery regulations that favor rechargeable solutions.
Retailers are increasing the number of stock-keeping units (SKUs) in their headlamp categories. Rechargeable models are expected to occupy approximately 70–80% of shelf space, catering to specialized needs for activities like trail running, hiking, and camping, each with distinct performance requirements.
Consumer focus has shifted beyond peak lumen output. Buyers now prioritize consistent brightness over time, effective beam distance, and battery runtime at medium settings. Ningbo Mengting Outdoor Products Co., Ltd. (MT Outdoor), founded in 2014, is addressing this demand with CE/ROHS-certified rechargeable headlamps for both retail and private label programs.
The manufacturer emphasizes providing detailed technical specifications, including lumen depreciation curves, beam distance according to the ANSI/NEMA FL-1 standard, and battery life at various brightness levels, to assist retailer buyers. MT Outdoor states it supplies this data for all its headlamp models.
Retailers are advised to offer products across three tiers: entry-level (200-400 lumens, €15-€25 retail), mid-range (500-800 lumens, €30-€50 retail), and performance (1,000+ lumens, €55-€80 retail). This strategy aims to capture both value-conscious consumers and performance-oriented enthusiasts.
