EVA Air Partners to Reduce Scope 3 Emissions

EVA Air has entered into a two-year Memorandum of Understanding with global freight forwarder AIT Worldwide Logistics to advance the airline's Green Transportation Program. The collaboration is set to achieve significant reductions in Scope 3 emissions.

The first year of the program will focus on developing and implementing more efficient logistics solutions. The target is to reduce Scope 3 emissions by 15,000 metric tons. Microsoft and Formosa Petrochemical Corporation are also participating in the initiative, contributing technological and industrial expertise.

EVA Air aims to integrate more sustainable practices into its logistics chain. This includes planning for more fuel-efficient flight routes and potentially adopting renewable aviation fuels in the future. The partner companies bring expertise from both the technology and petrochemical sectors.

The Ministry of Transportation has supported similar initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development in the aviation industry. Earlier this year, the airline already achieved a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions per flight kilometer. This new collaboration, however, targets a broader scope across the entire value chain. Future plans include further expansion of the program.
