Even Frydenberg appointed new CEO of Scandic Hotels
Scandic Hotels Group has appointed Even Frydenberg as its new President and CEO, effective July 31, 2017. He succeeds Frank Fiskers, who is stepping down after eight years.
Scandic Hotels Group announced on February 9, 2017, that Even Frydenberg will assume the role of President and CEO. Frydenberg's appointment is effective July 31, 2017, replacing Frank Fiskers, who has decided to leave the company after eight years.
Frydenberg, 53, joins Scandic from Starwood Hotels & Resorts, where he most recently served as responsible for operations in Western Europe. Following the merger of Starwood with Marriott, he held an operational leadership role in Europe. He began his tenure at Scandic on May 1.
Scandic's Chairman of the Board, Vagn Sørensen, expressed confidence in Frydenberg. Sørensen highlighted Frydenberg's extensive background in the international hotel industry and his familiarity with the Nordic market, stating he is the right person to continue Scandic's development.
Frank Fiskers departs after eight years as CEO. During his tenure, Scandic expanded from 160 to 230 hotels and was listed on the stock exchange. Fiskers will continue to advise Scandic's board and management until his departure.
