EWTN releases documentary series on Catholic exorcism rituals
Broadcaster EWTN has premiered a new documentary series titled 'In Jesus' Name,' focusing on the documented experiences of individuals who have undergone the Catholic rite of exorcism.
EWTN, the Alabama-based religious media network, has launched 'In Jesus' Name,' a miniseries exploring the practical application of exorcism within the Catholic Church. The production aims to provide a counter-narrative to fictionalized portrayals of the rite seen in mainstream media.
The series features interviews with practitioners and subjects, detailing the process from a theological and ritualistic perspective. By focusing on witness accounts, the program frames the practice within the context of Catholic doctrine rather than cinematic tropes.
This release aligns with EWTN's ongoing strategy of producing content tailored to its core audience of Catholic viewers. The series serves as an examination of spiritual warfare as interpreted through the Church's formal liturgical structures.
