Ex Amazon Employee Buys Printing Company DiggyPOD
A former Amazon product leader has acquired the $10 million book printing company DiggyPOD and has since expanded their portfolio. The owner highlights entrepreneurship through acquisition as an option for tech industry professionals.

In June 2025, a former Amazon product leader acquired DiggyPOD, a book printing business valued at $10 million. The owner has since expanded their portfolio by purchasing Long Overdue Books, a publishing house, with plans to develop a global media organization supporting content creators.
The owner joined Amazon in 2022 but experienced significant tech industry layoffs and return-to-office mandates. This led them to explore entrepreneurship through acquisition, a model focused on buying existing, profitable businesses rather than starting new ones from scratch.
DiggyPOD, founded in 1988, operates in Michigan. The acquisition was financed with the help of a Small Business Administration (SBA) loan. The new owner has since revamped the company's technology stack and brought in new executive leadership, including a Head of AI.
The owner emphasizes the stability of acquired businesses compared to startups, citing favorable SBA financing terms and the applicability of tech-honed skills like leadership and customer understanding to managing established operations. The transition also offers a potential for improved work-life balance.
