EXEED delays Starway ES launch due to Typhoon Baviu
The upcoming launch event for EXEED's (Chery) new Starway ES model has been postponed from its original July 12 date due to the anticipated arrival of Typhoon Baviu in Shanghai.

Chinese automaker EXEED, a subsidiary of Chery, has postponed the launch event for its new Starway ES model, originally scheduled for July 12, citing the impact of Typhoon Baviu. The event, planned for Shanghai, is delayed due to forecasts of strong winds and heavy rainfall.
Shanghai has issued a blue typhoon warning, expecting sustained high winds and downpours from July 11 to 13. The company decided to postpone the launch out of consideration for attendee safety.
In response to the postponement, EXEED is offering compensation. This includes daily giveaways of RMB 10,000 cash discounts for customers who pre-order through the app. Original pre-sale benefits, such as interest-free financing for two years, a charging pile and installation service, and comprehensive coverage for accidents related to intelligent driving assistance systems and battery thermal runaway, will be extended.
The Starway ES began pre-sales on June 12, with prices ranging from RMB 189,900 to RMB 219,900 for three distinct configurations. EXEED stated that a new launch date would be announced once the typhoon has passed. The offered benefits apply to orders placed before the launch and delivered by August 31, 2027.
