EXP Relocates Operational Headquarters to Chicago, Creates 150 Jobs

Global engineering and architecture design consulting firm EXP has relocated its operational headquarters from the Greater Toronto Area to Chicago. This move is expected to generate 150 new jobs in the city, positioning EXP as the largest firm of its type with an operational headquarters in Illinois.

The company announced the decision alongside Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. "With this move, EXP is making a vote of confidence in Chicago's future while gaining access to the city’s talent and transportation networks – the key ingredients for future growth," Mayor Emanuel stated. The relocation further solidifies Chicago's role as a hub for the industry.

According to EXP's Chief Operations Officer Mark Dvorak, Chicago was chosen as the ideal location for the operational headquarters due to its central Midwest position and strong talent pool. Additionally, the proximity to O'Hare International Airport facilitates connectivity with EXP's over 100 offices across North America. The firm already employs over 230 individuals in Chicago.

EXP is planning a $5 million renovation of its Michigan Avenue office to accommodate the new 150 employees. The company intends to recruit for these technical roles from local universities and career fairs. EXP has a long-standing history, having worked in Chicago since 1959.
