Representatives for EXPO 2027 Belgrade utilized the World Travel Market (WTM) in London this week to market the country as a broader travel destination. The exposition, scheduled from May 15 to August 15, 2027, aims to position Belgrade as a primary hub for international tourism in the Western Balkans, with over 140 countries expected to participate.

The initiative focuses on moving beyond the capital city by promoting travel packages that link the exposition with surrounding regions, such as the Fruška Gora wine country, the Danube Gorge, and mountain villages in western Serbia. Organizers are targeting an audience of over four million visitors, utilizing the 93-day event to showcase the nation's cultural and recreational assets.

This promotional push follows a period of growth for Serbia’s tourism sector. Data from the first eight months of 2026 shows a 6.5% increase in total tourist arrivals compared to the previous year. Specifically, the country saw an 8.7% rise in overnight stays from UK visitors, indicating strong interest from the Western European market.
