Preparations for the EXPO 2027 Belgrade world fair are underway, with Serbian and North Macedonian economic stakeholders meeting in Skopje to foster closer business and tourism ties. The "Visit Serbia" B2B event brought together over 50 representatives from both countries' economic and tourism sectors.

The meeting, part of Serbia's international "Visit Serbia" tour, aimed to identify new cooperation avenues, particularly within the tourism industry. North Macedonia is set to participate in EXPO 2027 with a national pavilion themed "All Rhythms of the Sun," showcasing its music, gastronomy, wines, tourism, and creative industries.

Danilo Jerinić, CEO of EXPO 2027 Belgrade, encouraged North Macedonian economic and tourism actors to leverage the exhibition as a regional opportunity. The expo's economic program includes six forums, a two-day global business and technology summit, over 250 bilateral meetings, and an estimated 50,000 business encounters, facilitated by a digital B2B platform.

Discussions also covered the creation of joint tourist routes connecting the two nations. Serbia recorded 82,047 visitors from North Macedonia between January and July 2026, a 22% year-on-year increase. EXPO 2027 Belgrade, themed "Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All," will run from May 15 to August 15, 2027, and anticipates approximately four million visitors.
