Eyelid Surgery Leads Global Aesthetic Procedures, ISAPS Report Shows

The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) has released its annual global survey on aesthetic and cosmetic procedures, indicating a worldwide total of nearly 17.9 million surgical and 17.3 million non-surgical treatments in 2025. This represents a 9.2% increase over the previous four-year period.

Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) was the most frequently performed surgical procedure globally for both men and women. Liposuction and breast augmentation followed as the next most popular surgical interventions. For non-surgical treatments, botulinum toxin injections, hyaluronic acid fillers, and non-surgical skin tightening were the leading choices.

Procedures on the face and head saw a 3.2% increase, totaling over 7.6 million. Breast augmentation surgeries accounted for 4.7 million procedures, a 5.7% rise, while body and limb surgeries experienced an 8.9% decline.

Women underwent the vast majority of procedures, accounting for 85.6% of surgical and 84.8% of non-surgical treatments. Younger patients (18-34 years) favored breast augmentation, genital surgery, and rhinoplasty, while those aged 35-50 showed a higher preference for botulinum toxin and liposuction. The United States performed the most procedures overall (over 5.4 million), followed by Brazil (3.2 million) and China (2.8 million).
